Medicine Olympiad
USMDO
US Medicine & Disease Olympiad
The US Medicine & Disease Olympiad is the US national qualifying competition for the IMDO, the International Medicine & Disease Olympiad.
The USMDO is open to all high school students interested in human biology, medicine, health, and disease. It is a great competition for those students who are considering careers in medicine and healthcare. The competition consists of one online multiple choice exam that covers the following topics: cell biology and genetics, human physiology, and human disease. The competition is held in late June to qualify students for the IMDO, which is held in late July.
The first annual USMDO was held on Sunday, June 26th, 2022. Despite little promotion besides the information on this website, hundreds of students participated in the competition, demonstrating a great demand and need for this national academic competition for high school students. Medicine is among the most coveted of all professions in the US, and physicians are held in high esteem in our society. The USMDO is the perfect springboard for high school students pursuing medicine and healthcare in their future.
